Rigging the game so you can win it!

A client of mine came to their session with me one day beaming with confidence and vigor proclaiming that they were going to begin running 5 times a week in the evening after work. I wanted to support him by checking in through the process, however, he said he was happy to go it alone.

3 weeks later I checked in with him and asked how his running sessions were going. With a frustrated look on his face, he conceded that he hadn’t been once. I then suggested that he may want to begin running once a week. Shocked and offended he announced, “what will running once a week do for me?”

If you have been fighting an uphill battle with your health for a while and you’ve made the decision to take action, don’t make the task an impossible one. This can cause long-lasting or irreversible damage to your confidence when it comes to taking control of your health. Begin slowly, get some ‘wins’ on the board and create momentum.

Be comfortable in the knowledge that you are entering or reentering new terrain and for that, you need to be kind to yourself, you also need great support and accountability. You would be surprised how easy it is to compromise health. It’s easy to convince yourself that you are doing something noble by setting aside your health and well-being because you simply don’t have the time or energy.

Imagine what it would be like if you knew without a doubt that you were going to complete your training even though you maintain a busy life and have endless responsibilities. We have been guiding parents to create long-lasting changes in their lives knowing what they are up against. Feel to reach out for further guidance through DM or comment below.

In amazing health,

It has been up and down but I can’t deny that I’m in a much better place than when I started. Thanks, Paul and Dan.”
