Hero Privacy Policy

  1. Welcome to Hero. We provide men with health and nutrition programs to enable them to step into fatherhood with confidence.
  2. We understand that your personal information is highly confidential and sensitive and as such, we are committed to the protection of your privacy. 
  3. The following privacy policy will demonstrate how we protect your personal information and the choices you have about how it is used. We urge you to read this privacy policy so you will understand your choices and our commitment to protecting your privacy.

What is personal information?

  1. “Personal information” means information or an opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable from the information or opinion.
  2. The personal Information that we may collect includes but is not limited to:
  • ‘contact information’, such as your name, phone numbers, address details, and email address;
  • your date of birth, age, gender; and 
  1. We collect this personal information in the context of the purchase of a membership to one of our online nutrition and/or exercise programs. This information will be used to contact you directly regarding your purchase, order and other products and services that we offer.
  2. We may also collect other information about yourself that you choose to share with us. We may use this information to better tailor our products and services to you.  This information is collected only with your consent and can be updated at any time.
  3. All billing information such as credit card details or direct debit details that you use to purchase our products and services is collected by a third party and we will not have access to such information. We are not responsible for the security of such information and the third party provider listed on our Site should be contacted for any further details.

 

How we use personal information

  1. We may use your personal information for the primary purpose of supplying our products and services to you. We may also use your personal information for purposes reasonably related to this primary purpose (which may include but is not limited to following up with how you are progressing with your use of the products and/or services).
  2. From time to time, we will contact you with information regarding other HERO products and services and third party offers. This may happen in the context of de-identified group newsletters or other forms of de-identified communications.  You will be able to opt-out of these communications at any time if you so choose by utilising the unsubscribe feature on electronic marketing communications, or in the case of other direct marketing materials contacting us in accordance with this privacy policy.
  3. The information you provide to us will not be sold to any other third parties within Australia or internationally.
  4. We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so.

Storage of personal information

  1. We recognise that the nature of our products and services means personal information which we store must be kept as secure as possible. We aim to keep your personal information safe and secure at all times. 
  2. If we no longer have any further need for your personal information we may remove it from our databases and systems and/or destroy records of it.

Third party services

  1. In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
  2. For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us.   3. As an example, if you are located in United States and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
  4. Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Use.
  5. Please also be aware that when you click on links to purchase products or services from us, you may be directed away from our Site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

  1. If you provided us with your personal information, you can update that personal information by contacting us in accordance with paragraph 27 below. We will update the personal information that we hold about you in accordance with any request or updated details that you provide to us.
  2. You are entitled to access the personal information that we hold about you. You can request access to the personal information by contacting us in accordance with clause 27 below.  Please note there may be some legal or administrative reasons to deny access. If we refuse your request to access your personal information, we will provide you with the reasons for the refusal.
